Russia’s envoy highlights importance of Russia-China investment cooperation
According to Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian Direct Investment Fund has invested in more than 50 projects with Chinese partners
MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev emphasized the importance of investment cooperation between Russia and China for global partnership, prosperity, and security.
"The Russian Direct Investment Fund has already invested in more than 50 projects with Chinese partners. Russia-China investment cooperation is vital for global partnership, prosperity, and security," he wrote on X, adding that he was on his way to China.
Earlier, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin would pay an official visit to China on May 19-20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The trip is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation, which serves as the foundation of interstate relations between the two countries. The two leaders will take part in the official opening ceremony of the Russia-China Years of Education (2026-2027). During the visit, Putin and Xi Jinping are expected to discuss current bilateral issues, ways to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between Russia and China, and exchange views on key international and regional matters.
