Russian anti-drone technology market may reach $2.76 bln in 2026
Bulat Khabriev, managing investment director at VEB.RF, says that cyberattacks and UAV attacks have ceased to be abstract risks
MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The financial capacity of the Russian anti-drone technology market could reach 200 bln rubles ($2.76 bln) by the end of 2026. At present, Russia already develops and manufactures more than 30% of global solutions in this field, Bulat Khabriev, managing investment director at VEB.RF, said at the CIPR-2026 forum.
"The Russian anti-drone technology market has grown over three years from 2-3 bln rubles to 100 bln rubles, and by the end of 2026 it could reach 200 bln rubles. Cyberattacks and UAV attacks have ceased to be abstract risks. In the future, in order to finance major industrial and infrastructure projects, VEB.RF and commercial banks will need to assess risks stemming from such threats," Khabriev said.
According to Vladimir Sakovich, CEO of Sk Capital (part of the VEB.RF group), the market’s main problem at present is not a lack of technologies, but the fact that businesses and investors underestimate the threat until it affects them directly. He noted that this is a global trend.
At the same time, Sakovich noted that the situation in Russia is now changing. Whereas previously most startups in this field developed without venture financing -- using their own funds or advances from clients that had already faced such threats -- in 2026, major business executives began to perceive drone strikes not as a security service issue, but as a risk of a complete shutdown of enterprises.
