The 10th Russia-China Expo is taking place from May 17-21
KHABAROVSK, May 18. /TASS/. Models of fighters and the Sukhoi Superjet-100 airliner, manufactured at aircraft factories in Russia’s Khabarovsk Region, were displayed at the Russia-China Expo in Harbin (Heilongjiang Province, China), Dmitry Demeshin, head of the region, reported on his Telegram channel.
The 10th Russia-China Expo is taking place from May 17-21. The Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair is being held concurrently. The opening ceremony began with greetings from the leaders of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, read by Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Guoqing. As part of their tour of the exhibit, Trutnev and Guoqing visited the Khabarovsk Region’s stand.
"The industrial zone of our exhibit features models of products of which we are rightfully proud: the Su-57, Su-35 fighters, and Superjet-100 aircraft, renowned far beyond Russia," Demeshin wrote.
A separate section of the exhibit is dedicated to products from small and medium-sized businesses--the region’s exporters. These include fish from the Sea of Okhotsk, meat delicacies, a unique chaga tea drink, birch sap, coffee, fruit desserts made from Far Eastern berries, natural honey, and clothing from local designers, the governor noted. He added that all the products presented by the region are of great interest to Chinese partners.
The Khabarovsk Region’s delegation in Harbin was led by First Deputy Chairman of the regional government Sergey Abramov. He briefed the distinguished guests on the status of a key project for the region--the development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. He spoke about the implementation of key projects on the Russian part of the island--the border crossing, a branch of the National Center RUSSIA, Friendship Park, and the Russian-Chinese technology park. Joint development of the island was one of the key topics at the sixth meeting of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation and Development of the Russian Far East and Northeast China, held on May 16.
"The year 2026 marks an anniversary: 25 years of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation. And our shared goal is to bring this treaty to life through specific projects and interregional dialogue. <...> The Khabarovsk Region has historically been one of the driving forces of the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership. We are open to cooperation and ready to implement the most ambitious joint projects," Demeshin wrote.
