Russia sees great potential for joint projects in industry, transport, and energy, Albert Khorev said

KAZAN, May 13. /TASS/. Russia sees significant potential in joint energy projects with Pakistan, including the development of oil and gas fields in the republic, Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev said at the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum.

"We see great potential for joint projects in industry, transport, and energy," the diplomat said. He specified that this includes "the launch of direct cargo air service, assistance by Russian specialists in the development of hydropower, the construction and reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants, and the development of oil and gas fields in Pakistan."

He also added that Moscow and Islamabad continue to develop trade despite Western sanctions and are finding alternative ways to conduct payments.

He noted that anti-Russian sanctions imposed by Western countries were aimed at "hindering settlements for trade operations."

"At the same time, the business communities of our countries are finding opportunities to maintain trade contacts, while the relevant agencies continue joint work to identify alternative payment methods," the ambassador stressed.
