Russia’s trade turnover with OIC countries rises fivefold over 10 years

KAZAN, May 13. /TASS/. Russia’s trade turnover with countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has increased fivefold over the past 10 years, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Relations with Federal Subjects, Parliament and Public Associations Kirill Sapozhenkov said at the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum.
"Over the past 10 years, our trade turnover with OIC countries has increased fivefold and approached $160 bln. This is a very solid figure," the diplomat said.
According to him, the scope of cooperation is very broad and includes infrastructure projects as well as supplies of Russian products. "Our relations are already reaching strategic levels today. Such a task has been set by the head of state," Sapozhenkov added.
