MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russia was the third-largest gas supplier to the EU in the first quarter of 2026, after Norway and the US, according to TASS calculations based on data from the European analytical center Bruegel.

In January-March, Russian gas supplies to the EU totaled almost 11.5 billion cubic meters.

This is less than Norway (25.2 billion cubic meters) and the US (22.7 billion cubic meters), but more than Algeria (9.7 billion cubic meters).

Overall, EU countries imported 81.1 billion cubic meters of gas in the first quarter, which is 8.3% up year-on-year, according to Bruegel data.

According to TASS calculations based on data from the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators (ENTSOG), in January-March, Russia increased gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream pipeline by 10% to 4.96 billion cubic meters.

The TurkStream pipeline currently remains the only active route for Russian pipeline gas supplies to Europe following the suspension of transit through Ukraine.
