MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Gazprom Export has filed a lawsuit in a Russian court against SEFE Marketing & Trading, which before the nationalization of its parent company SEFE by the German government (formerly a Gazprom subsidiary — Gazprom Germania) was known as Gazprom Marketing & Trading and was a British subsidiary of the Russian holding, according to the arbitration court database.

The claim was filed on March 31 with the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. No further details of the case are available in the database.

Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action justified the move by the impending insolvency of SEFE, which would have threatened security of gas supplies in Germany. The German economic ministry emphasized that SEFE is a key company in Germany’s energy supply sector.
