MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. The Northern Sea Route is a good alternative to the Suez Canal and the Strait of Hormuz, Russian Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin said in an interview with Rossiya 1 television.

"Such cargo volume was not carried over the Northern Sea Route in Soviet times. This is also a good alternative to the Suez Canal, the Strait of Hormuz, it turns out to be even quicker," the minister said.

Russia offers safe transport corridors for international logistics, Nikitin added.
