Agricultural trade between Russia and UAE doubles in 3 years reaching $400 mln
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev noted the importance of joint work on developing a BRICS grain exchange
DUBAI, January 30. /TASS/. Agricultural trade between Russia and the United Arab Emirates has doubled over the past three years, reaching $400 million, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev announced at the Gulfood-2026 International Food Exhibition.
"Overall, trade turnover (agricultural products and food - TASS) between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates is growing year on year. Over the past three years, it has doubled, reaching $400 million. We will work to ensure it continues to grow. We assume that the minimum share by which it should increase by the end of 2026 is 10%. <…> Overall, we cooperate on the supply of halal products. We can grow our supply of meat, grain, and milk," Patrushev said.
He also noted the importance of joint work on developing a BRICS grain exchange.
"BRICS countries account for almost half of the total consumption of grains and oilseeds. Speaking about this area of cooperation, I also think it will be interesting," Patrushev said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the Gulfood-2026 exhibition is of great interest to domestic producers, with Russia participating in it 11 times already.
"For eleven years, the United Arab Emirates has been hosting Russian products, where they are displayed to find new clients. This year, we have the largest number of companies represented - around 140, and the exhibition space for Russian goods is over two thousand square meters," Patrushev added.
