Russia to unveil its newest Sarma MLRS at Riyadh defense expo

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Russia’s state tech corporation Rostec will unveil its newest high-mobility multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) Sarma at the World Defense Show 2026 exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Rostec press service reported.
"The Rostec State Corporation will unveil its latest high-mobility multiple launch rocket system, the Sarma, for the first time. The weapon system’s premiere will take place at the World Defense Show 2026 international defense and security exhibition in Riyadh as part of Rosoboronexport’s display," the company said.
It specified that the Sarma MLRS is mounted on an 8x8 all-wheel drive chassis, has a 300mm caliber, and is capable of effectively engaging a wide range of targets, including enemy personnel, artillery, armored vehicles, air defense systems, other offensive weapons, and military facilities.
The combat vehicle has a crew of three. The Sarma allows operators to take up position, conduct all preparatory operations, and fire without leaving the armored cabin, which protects soldiers from shrapnel and armor-piercing incendiary ammunition. The vehicle can also be remotely controlled from a shelter.
World Defense Show 2026 is one of the largest international defense and security exhibitions, taking place from February 8 to 12 in Riyadh. The event is organized under the auspices of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense and brings together the world's leading manufacturers of arms and military equipment.
