Lukoil shares up almost 3.5% amid agreement with Carlyle

MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. The price of Lukoil shares gained almost 3.5% during the morning trading session on the Moscow Exchange, according to trading data. This followed an agreement with American company Carlyle to sell its international assets.

As of 9:44 a.m. Moscow time (6:44 a.m. GMT), Lukoil shares were up by 3.17% at 5,385 rubles per share. By 9:52 a.m. Moscow time (6:52 a.m. GMT), the company’s shares had extended gains to 3.48% reaching 5,401 rubles per share.

Russia’s Lukoil has reached an agreement with American investment company Carlyle to sell Lukoil International GmbH, which owns its foreign assets. The deal does not include projects in Kazakhstan and is conditional on a number of approvals, including from US authorities. The agreement is not exclusive as Lukoil continues negotiations with other potential buyers, the company noted.
