Russian stocks extend gains amid reported meetings on Ukraine in Turkey

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Russian stocks extended gains during the main trading session on the Moscow Exchange following reports of planned meetings on the Ukrainian settlement in Turkey, according to trading data.
Reuters reported earlier, citing a source, that US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff plans to travel to Turkey on November 19 to take part in talks with Vladimir Zelensky. Zelensky has said that the aim of his visit to Turkey is "to reinvigorate negotiations" on resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
As of 11:22 a.m. Moscow time (8:22 a.m. GMT), the MOEX and RTS indices were up by 1.86% at 2,557.23 points and 993.03 points, respectively. By 11:37 a.m. Moscow time (8:37 a.m. GMT), the MOEX Index had extended gains to 2.28% as it traded at 2,567.84 points, while the RTS was up by 2.28% at 997.07 points.
