ST. PETERSBURG, November 5. /TASS/. Production of cars in St. Petersburg will grow almost twofold in 2026, chairman of the city committee for industrial policy, innovations and trade Alexander Sitov told TASS in an interview.

"We produced 42,000 cars last year. About 50,000 cars are expected this year. We anticipate growth may be by a factor of two in the next year," the official said.

Series production at the ex-Toyota plant will begin early next year or in the middle of 2026, he noted.
