Russia's foreign trade balance in January-August down by 14.13% to $86.3 bln — Customs
Russia reduced exports to Asian countries by 2.68% to $203.6 billion, while imports from these countries increased by 0.23% to $118.5 billion
MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. The positive foreign trade balance of Russia in January-August 2025 dropped by 14.13% year on year to $86.3 bln, the Federal Customs Service said.
In the reporting period, exports decreased by $14.5 billion to $264.2 billion, while imports decreased by $0.3 billion to $177.9 billion. Russia's trade turnover for January-August 2025, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 3.24% to $442.1 billion.
Exports to European countries fell by 14.32% to $38.1 billion, while imports fell by 4.16% to $46 billion. Russia reduced exports to Asian countries by 2.68% to $203.6 billion, while imports from these countries increased by 0.23% to $118.5 billion.
Exports to African countries decreased by 14.9% to $13.9 billion, while imports increased by 33.25% to $3 billion.
Exports to North and South America remained unchanged at $8.5 billion, while imports from these countries increased by 11.58% to $10.4 billion.
Mineral products accounted for the largest share of Russia's exports during the reporting period, at $146.9 billion (-15.49%). The second-largest item was metals and metal products, with exports growing by 18.13% to $45.5 billion. Agricultural products ranked third, at $23.8 billion (-12.72%).
Machinery, equipment, and vehicles are Russia's largest import item. However, from January to August, this figure decreased by 5.86% to $84.9 billion. They are followed by chemical products (+4.77% to $35.9 billion) and agricultural products (+14.05% to $27.7 billion).
