MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. The Central Bank views the status of the Russian banking sector as stable, Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said.

"From my point of view, the financial rehabilitation mechanism we suggested instead of the loan-based one, when the bank is capitalized at once, it proved itself. It is much more efficient than the previous instrument," she said. "We do not see at present that we will actively use it because the condition of the financial sector is stable," Nabiullina noted.

The Central Bank chief replied in this way to a question regarding the priority method of "rescuing" considered by the regulator if risks of financial rehabilitation for a major player arises. There are no such concerns at present, Nabiullina said.
