Rosatom may have several new foreign facilities in near future — CEO
"A number of negotiations are in the final stage today," Alexey Likhachev said
MOSCOW, May 21 /TASS/. Rosatom may have new foreign facilities in the near future, the state corporation's general director Alexey Likhachev said during his speech in the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament.
"I think that in the near future we will have several more facilities abroad - both with our close neighbors and in countries that are a little further away. A number of negotiations are in the final stage today. And, despite all the political pressure, sometimes, frankly speaking, direct threats and intimidation, to which our partners are subjected [from] the collective West, practically none of our partners have curtailed their work," he said.
Earlier, the head of Rosatom reported that Russian nuclear scientists currently account for 90% of export construction of nuclear power plants and are simultaneously building 22 power units, including in China, India, Turkey, Iran, Hungary and Bangladesh.
