Small and medium-sized enterprises amount to one-fifth of Russia’s economy — PM

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Russia has already reached 6.7 mln, accounting for approximately one-fifth of the national economy, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"We are seeing that the momentum previously generated in the sector remains in effect. The number of SMEs continues to grow. As of April 10, it had already exceeded 6,710,000. Together, they make up one-fifth of our economy," the head of government said.
Speaking about support measures for SMEs, Mishustin noted that the regulatory framework has been revised based on an analysis of the performance of industrial clusters and their specialized organizations.
According to the Prime Minister, another 100 industrial parks are planned to be built over the next five years. The application process for 2026 project proposals is already underway, Mishustin added.
