Trade turnover between Georgia, Russia up 3.7% in January-March 2025

With Russia being Georgia’s third-biggest trade partner, its share in the republic’s total external trade volume equaled 11.4% in the reporting period

TBILISI, April 22. /TASS/. Trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $642 mln in January-March 2025, which is 3.7% higher than in the same period last year, according to data released by the National Statistics Service of Georgia.

With Russia being Georgia’s third-biggest trade partner, its share in the republic’s total external trade volume equaled 11.4% in the reporting period. Georgian exports to Russia amounted to over $129 mln (down by 19% in annual terms), while imports were worth more than $512 mln (up by 12%).

The US was Georgia’s biggest trade partner in the first three months of this year, with mutual trade turnover equaling over $669 mln (up by 58.5% compared with the same period in 2024), followed by Turkey with mutual trade turnover exceeding $663 mln (down by 8.4% year-on-year).
