MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The new Forbes list with a record number of billionaires from Russia shows that the Russian economy is developing successfully, stock markets are growing, and import substitution is actively developing, Boris Kopeikin, deputy general director of the Center for Strategic Research Boris Kopeikin believes.

"The main conclusion from the analysis of the Forbes list is that the Russian economy is developing successfully," Kopeikin told TASS.

The number of Russian dollar billionaires in the Forbes world ranking in 2025 set a new historical record. The list includes 146 Russians. Their total net worth also updated the historical maximum reaching $625.5 bln.

This is also the first time when the ranking of the world’s richest billionaires includes as many as 15 Russian businessmen.

The expert noted that the total number of Russian businessmen with big net worth has grown significantly. In this indicator, Russia is overtaken only by the United States, China, Germany and India.

"This would hardly have happened without active economic growth and stock market growth. The newbies represent industries where import substitution processes are actively underway: pharmaceuticals, information technology and food production," the expert noted.

According to him, the emergence of new businessmen in the logistics sector also reflects the changes in the structure of the economy

"Along with the growth in the number of the super-rich in Russia, average salaries grew at an accelerated rate and the number of the poor decreased. Therefore, broad sections of the population benefit from ongoing economic growth," the expert concluded.
