Russian stock indices declining after moderate growth in morning trading

MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. The Russian stock indices have switched to decline after moderate growth in the morning, the dollar-denominated RTS index fell below 1,100 points for the first time since February 14, 2025, according to Moscow Exchange data.

As of 02:51 p.m. Moscow time, the RTS index fell by 1.05% to 1,098.68 points, the MOEX index also lost 1.05% and was at 2,981.81 points. Meanwhile, the yuan-to-ruble exchange rate fell by 8.4 kopecks compared to the closing level of the previous trading session and amounted to 11.597 rubles.

By 03:08 p.m. Moscow time, the MOEX index slowed its decline to 2,990.11 points (-0.77%), the RTS index was at 101.74 points (-0.77%). The yuan accelerated its decline and was trading at 11.585 rubles (-9.9 kopecks).

The Russian stock market demonstrated growth in leading indices at the beginning of the main trading session, according to the trading platform’s data as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time. The MOEX index grew by 0.62% to 3,032.02 points, the RTS index went up by 0.62% to 1,117.23 points. The yuan-to-ruble exchange rate at the opening of Moscow Exchange trading grew by 0.9 kopecks compared to the closing level of the previous trading session and amounted to 11.69 rubles.
