Oil pumping over Transneft system down 3% in 2024
The pipeline operator expanded the capability of oil deliveries to the Far Eastern port of Kozmino to 46 mln metric tons per year
MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Oil pumping over the Transneft system declined by 3% and pumping of petroleum products dropped by 2% amid production lowering by Russian companies within the OPEC+ deal framework, the Russian oil pipeline operator said.
"Operational and financial activity of the Transneft Group was implemented in 2024 in the environment of oil production lowering by Russian companies as part of OPEC+ accords, unprecedented sanctions introduced by Western companies against the Russian fuel and energy sector, and serious inflation pressure," the company said.
Transneft completed the expansion of trunk pipelines’ throughput capacity in direction of the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea to 57 mln metric tons per year in 2024. The pipeline operator also expanded the capability of oil deliveries to the Far Eastern port of Kozmino to 46 mln metric tons per year.
