MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Russia is interested in building new power plants in Tajikistan with participation of Russian companies, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on the air with Rossiya-1 television.
"As it is known, Russia invested in construction of the Sangtudinskaya Hydropower Plant in Tajikistan. We are also interested in construction of new power plants with participation of our company, as well as in repair, refitting and upgrade of the operating hydropower plant, because water potential of Tajikistan is very high," Novak said.
Parameters of further development and cooperation in this area were discussed during talks of presidents of Russia and Tajikistan Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon earlier today, the official added.
