KEMEROVO, March 17. /TASS/. Russia plans to annually produce at least 600 mln metric tons of coal by 2050, Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov said at a coal industry meeting in Kuzbass.
"We are now preparing to complete [coordination] of the Russian energy strategy by 2050, where our level [of annual coal mining] by 2050 is at least 600 mln metric tons. A challenging yet real task, whose implementation we are to support," the minister said.
A energy strategy draft seen by TASS earlier indicated that the country sets the goal of increasing the share of Russian exports in international coal trade from 14.5% in 2023 to 15-25% in 2036.
