India’s HAL hopes for cooperation with Russia on Su-57 jet — source

BENGALURU /India/, February 10. /TASS/. India's leading aircraft manufacturing corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Limited hopes to cooperate with Russia on the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet, a source in the Indian company told TASS.
The source mentioned that HAL has been cooperating with Russia since the 1960s as part of technology transfers.
"We look forward to further cooperation with the Russian side in modernizing the Su-30 or on new original Russian projects such as the Su-57, which is on display at the exhibition," he said on the sidelines of the international aviation exhibition Aero India 2025. "If the government and our buyers want it, we will consider this project."
The Su-57E multirole fighter jet performed a training flight at Aero India 2025 on Monday. More demonstration sorties are scheduled for Tuesday.
The Su-57 is the world’s only fifth-generation fighter aircraft that has proven its effectiveness in real combat conditions against Western air defense systems. The aircraft is capable of deploying a wide range of guided high-precision weapons and is distinguished by low visibility to enemy radars.
