Inflation in Russia above 9% by mid-December — PM
Russia is proactively engaging trade partners from friendly countries, Mikhail Mishustin noted
MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. Inflation in Russia was over 9% from the year start by mid-December and the government has already taken measures to balance supply and demand in all segments of the economy, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"This indicator surpassed 9% from the year start by the middle of December. The government is carrying the systemic effort on challenges related to inflation pressure on the economy. A number of measures has already been worked out and approved for this purpose, including on supply and demand balancing in each sector, development of the economy of supply, opening of new industrial project and labor productivity improvement," he said.
Russia is proactively engaging trade partners from friendly countries, Mishustin noted. The decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission comes into force today reducing butter import duty to zero by June 15, 2025.
