Made in Russia festival to be held in China ahead of Chinese New Year
Over 120 Russian manufacturers from around 40 regions in Russia are expected to display their goods at the event: food, beverages, cosmetics, souvenirs, and arts and crafts
BEIJING, December 23. /TASS/. The Russian Export Center (REC), with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, will organize a Made in Russia fair in China’s Shenyang, the capital of the northeastern Liaoning province, from January 17-25, 2025, the REC press office reported.
"Made in Russia fairs provide a platform for businesses to be showcased to both end consumers and the business sector," REC chief executive Veronika Nikishina said. "During the first fair in Liaoning province in January 2024, we witnessed strong interest in Russian products, as well as our culture, and this year Shenyang will again kick off the festival-fair season in China." The event is set to take place on the eve of the Chinese New Year, which will occur on January 29.
Over 120 Russian manufacturers from around 40 regions in Russia are expected to display their goods at the event: food, beverages, cosmetics, souvenirs, and arts and crafts. Visitors will have the opportunity to examine the products in the demonstration area and purchase them directly from manufacturers.
"China is Russia's strategic partner in agriculture. Bilateral food trade has been growing rapidly in recent years and has substantial potential," the REC quoted Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut as saying. "I am confident that top-quality Russian products will continue to see increasing demand in the Chinese market, and our mutually beneficial trade relations will expand further."
At the fair, Russian exporters will engage in business discussions with Chinese companies to explore cooperation and new projects. The theme of this year’s festival is "The Nutcracker," which will envelop visitors in the ambiance of Russian ballet and New Year fantasy. As is customary, the REC has arranged an engaging cultural program: Shenyang residents can expect painting master classes, crafting activities, artistic performances, animated films in Chinese, an exhibition of contemporary media artists, and lectures about Russian products.
Made in Russia fairs in China
This upcoming event will be the fourth of its kind in China. In 2024, the REC hosted such events three times: in the Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Sichuan provinces.
In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the Made in Russia program, aimed at promoting Russian products, and emphasized the need to extend its reach. He stressed that Russian products with high added value must not only be well-known but also affordable for international consumers.
