Hungary wants to preserve relations with Russia as part of economic neutrality — Orban
The prime minister underscored that, "the more serious the problems in Europe are, the more decisively the economic relations in all other markets should be promoted"
BUDAPEST, December 23. /TASS/. Hungary intends to preserve its mutually beneficial ties with Russia in accordance with its economic neutrality policy, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with М1.
He noted that high hopes for the development of the economy emerge in regards to the upcoming inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump.
"It is also very important not to reject our relations with the Russians, which is also good for us," the prime minister said.
Orban underscored that, "the more serious the problems in Europe are, the more decisively the economic relations in all other markets should be promoted."
This complies with the policy of economic neutrality, which Hungary intends to adhere to, he explained.
The government of Hungary said it previously that it would live to develop the economic relations with Russia in all areas, not covered by EU sanctions. As for economic neutrality, this new strategy implies active business relations with the allies in the West as well as Eastern countries, including China.
