Russia may reduce electricity exports by more than 20% in 2024

In 2023, Inter RAO exported 10.7 bln kWh and the figure may therefore decline by more than 20%

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. Electricity exports from Russia may total 8.5 bln kWh in 2024, Executive Board Member of Inter RAO Alexandra Panina told reporters.

"Our export-import operations provisionally amount to 10 bln kWh. Exports total about 8.5 bln kWh; we expect imports to be approximately 1.8 bln kWh. Fundamentally, these are good volumes. They are slightly lower than last-year actuals but lower exactly by one country - this is China," Panina said.

In 2023, Inter RAO exported 10.7 bln kWh and the figure may therefore decline by more than 20%.

Inter RAO managed to slightly increase export supplies on account of consumption growth in other countries, she noted.
