Foreign organizations conclude 27 agreements with Russian firms at Eastern Economic Forum

According to the Roscongress Foundation, "the sheer scale of the agreements concluded at EEF 2024 - over 5.5 trillion rubles"

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. Russian companies concluded 27 agreements with foreign organizations at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) this year, with the agreements worth over 5.5 trillion rubles ($53 bln), the press service of the Roscongress Foundation said in a statement.

"The sheer scale of the agreements concluded at EEF 2024 - over 5.5 trillion rubles and 27 contracts with foreign organizations - clearly demonstrates how interested others are in investing in the Far East and the faith they have in Russia as a strategic partner. These investments help us integrate into global economic processes and are proof of the importance of the Far East to the Russian economy as a whole," Adviser to the Russian President, Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov was quoted as saying.

In accordance with instructions issued by Russian President following the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum on November 9, 2024, the Roscongress Foundation has prepared an analytical report on the results of the event, which was held in Vladivostok on September 3-6. "The Report on the Results of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024 draws on a wealth of opinions from leading experts, Forum participants, and business representatives to clearly establish the strategic importance of the Far East in the new global economic reality, contains in depth analysis of the important issues facing the region and the country, and proposes concrete ways to continue developing sustainably and integrating into the international economy," according to the statement.

The report also deals with technological development and cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), SCO, and BRICS, as well as the need to strengthen international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific in the interests of greater economic stability and developing new markets, the importance of sustainable regional development to strengthening Russia’s position in the global market and integrating into the fast-moving markets of the Asia-Pacific.

"The Eastern Economic Forum is one of the best tools we have to develop the Far East. It hosts discussions on the most pressing social and economic issues and how to attract investment - everything needed to develop the Far East and the country as a whole and improve quality of life. The long-term implementation of the State Program for the Socio-economic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District and decisions taken by the Russian President on the sidelines of the EEF have changed the region and its impact on the economy of the broader Asia-Pacific. Discussions at the Forum foster a greater understanding of how things are changing and equip us to respond more effectively to modern challenges while strengthening cooperation with international partners. The Forum has given new impetus to Russia and is making it stronger," Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev was quoted as saying.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum earlier that more than 1,000 agreements totally worth over 10.5 trillion rubles ($117.5 bln) were signed at three previous forums.
