Gas supply by Gazprom for Europe through Ukraine to Sudzha totals 42.4 mcm
The volume of supplies has not changed despite the statements on suspended flows of Russian gas to Austria’s OMV
MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. Gazprom supplies gas for Europe through Ukraine in the volume of 42.4 million cubic meters (mcm) per day to the Sudzha gas pumping station in Russia’s Kursk Region, a Gazprom representative told reporters on Saturday, adding that the request for pumping through the Sokhranovka gas station had been rejected by the Ukrainian side.
"Gazprom supplies Russian gas for transit through Ukrainian territory in the volume confirmed by the Ukrainian side via the Sudzha gas pumping station of 42.4 million cubic meters as of December 14. The request for the Sokhranovka gas pumping station has been rejected," he said. On the previous day, the pumping also equaled 42.4 million cubic meters.
The volume of supplies has not changed despite the statements on suspended flows of Russian gas to Austria’s OMV.
OMV stated earlier that it had received a notification on suspension of gas deliveries under the Austrian contract starting November 16 from Gazprom Export. It is connected with OMV’s decision to seek damages amounting to 230 mln euro awarded by an arbitration court in a dispute with Gazprom Export on account of payment under the agreement on gas supplies to Austria through Ukraine.
The incomplete delivery under the contract to Germany that instigated the dispute, followed an explosion at the Nord Stream gas pipeline amid unavailability of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline due to sanctions.
The transit line through Ukraine remains the only route for Russian gas supplies to western and central European countries. Pumping through the Nord Stream pipeline has been completely suspended. Gas supplies via Turkish Stream and Blue Stream are intended for Turkey and southern and southeastern European countries.
