Russian Railways resumes passenger rail service with China, North Korea

"With the introduction of the 2024-2027 schedule, international trains of China Railways on the route Suifenhe-Grodekovo and those of the DPRK Ministry of Railways on the route Tumangang-Khasan will resume service," the statement reads

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russian Railways is resuming passenger rail service with China and North Korea after it was suspended in 2020, the holding announced on its official Telegram channel.

"We are resuming passenger rail service with China and the DPRK. With the introduction of the 2024-2027 schedule, international trains of China Railways on the route Suifenhe-Grodekovo and those of the DPRK Ministry of Railways on the route Tumangang-Khasan will resume service," the statement said.

In particular, train No. 402/401 Suifenhe-Grodekovo will run daily from December 15 from Suifenhe at 10:00 a.m. (local time), and from Grodekovo at 5:43 p.m. (local time).

Train No. 645/646 from Tumangang to Khasan will return to the schedule on December 16 and will depart three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: from Tumangang at 12:00 p.m. (local time), from Khasan at 3:30 p.m. (local time).

Russian Railways completely suspended passenger service to China and the DPRK in February 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
