Science expenditure to gain 14% in 2025 — Russian deputy PM
According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, the main increase is budgeted in the "fundamental scientific research" chapter
MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Budget expenditures within the state program for Russia’s scientific and technological development will increase by 14%, or by 83.3 bln rubles ($819 mln), in 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
"The amount of funds in next year’s budget within the state program 'Russia’s scientific and technological development' to be spent on science is 14%, or 83.3 bln rubles, higher than in 2024," he said at a meeting at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
"The main increase is budgeted in the 'fundamental scientific research' chapter - by 50.1 bln rubles. Overall, the budget for scientific research and developments will total 665 bln rubles. Financing of applied research will increase by 10%," Chernyshenko added.
