MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has pointed to difficulties with settlements as the main problem in trade with China, but at the same time noted the growing use of national currencies in bilateral trade.

"The main problem we have today is the problem of settlements. There are no secrets here. Everyone knows the root causes, but almost 90% of trade is in national currencies, in yuan and rubles. In addition, we will use the electronic capabilities of central banks. Active work between the central banks is being carried out at the expert level," he said at the VTB forum Russia Calling!

Putin believes that the BRICS investment platform could also be used within the framework of cooperation.

"We will use all these and other possible tools to ensure that our cooperation should be reliable and safe and open up vast development prospects," Putin added.
