MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. Oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline toward Germany continues as scheduled, with Transneft having fulfilled its obligations on transportation volumes within the territories of Russia and Belarus, the press service of the Russian company told TASS.

Earlier reports said that an oil pipeline leak occurred at a section of the Druzhba pipeline near the settlement of Pniewo in western Poland early on December 1. No fire or explosion threat was registered following the incident. The operator of the Druzhba oil pipeline in Poland, the PERN company, had identified the leak and begun work to replace the damaged section. The causes of the incident are not yet known and will be investigated by the company.

"Oil is transported through this branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline as scheduled. Transneft has met its obligations regarding the volume of pumping through the territories of Russia and Belarus," Transneft said.

The leak at the section of the Druzhba oil pipeline in western Poland did not affect oil supplies to Germany, as deliveries continued through another, operational branch of the pipeline, PERN said.

The Druzhba oil pipeline supplies oil to Belarusian refineries and transits it to Europe. The pipeline, starting in Russia’s Samara Region, runs through Bryansk and further splits into two branches: the northern and the southern, passing through Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Hungary. Russian oil is not delivered via the northern branch currently; it supplies oil from Kazakhstan to Germany.

The Kazakh authorities plan to deliver around 1.4 mln tons of oil to Germany via Druzhba by the end of this year. Kazakhstan’s plans for the volumes of oil supplies to Germany via the pipeline for 2025 remain intact at 1.2 mln tons.
