El Salvador considering Rosatom technologies for building nuclear reactors
Ivan Dybov noted that the Salvadoran authorities have done a great deal of work to prepare the regulatory framework for implementing nuclear energy projects
BUENOS AIRES, November 28. /TASS/. Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom is in contact with the authorities of El Salvador, who are considering the possibility of building research and power reactors, Ivan Dybov, head of the Rosatom America Latina center, told reporters.
"They are considering construction of a research reactor, and are also talking about the possibility of building power reactors. We are in contact with them, and last year we held workshops on our experience and our technologies for El Salvador," he told reporters after participating in a conference organized by the Russian House in Argentina.
Dybov noted that the Salvadoran authorities have done a great deal of work to prepare the regulatory framework for implementing nuclear energy projects.
"They are studying various technologies, including floating ones. Since Rosatom is a leader in small modular reactors, they are paying attention to our technologies as well," he added.
