The ministry said that the final results for the reproduction of the mineral resource base for 2024 will be summed up in early 2025

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russia’s recoverable reserves of oil and condensate over 10 months of 2024 grew by 286 million tons, while the growth of natural gas reserves was 788.5 billion cubic meters, the Natural Resources Ministry announced to reporters.

"The growth of recoverable reserves for the sum of all categories over 10 months of 2024 amounted to 286 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons (oil + condensate) and 788.5 billion cubic meters of gas," the ministry noted.

The Natural Resources Ministry also added that the final results for the reproduction of the mineral resource base for 2024 will be summed up in early 2025.

"A large number of applications for state examination of reserves are currently under consideration," the ministry said.

Earlier, the Energy Ministry announced a preliminary forecast, according to which gas production in the country in 2024 could amount to about 667 billion cubic meters. Thus, the reproduction of gas reserves for 10 months has already turned out to be higher than the production level projected for the year.

However, according to the forecast voiced by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, by the end of the year, oil and condensate production in the country is expected to be in the range of 515 to 521 million tons. So far, the increase in reserves has only slightly more than half compensated for the projected production level.
