Rosatom reveals long-term vision for company
R&D will aim to develop a sovereign technological ecosystem as part of the new strategy, Natalya Ilyina said
SIRIUS, November 28. /TASS/. Rosatom is currently forming its strategy for the next two decades, one which will deviate greatly from its current approach and aim to create entire new industrial sectors, director for research and technology programs and projects of the Russian state nuclear corporation Natalya Ilyina said at the 4th Young Scientists Congress.
"We are now forming our strategy through 2045 and it certainly differs significantly from our existing one. The current strategy, which runs through 2030, is tethered to the creation of new businesses, new business projects," Ilyina said. "Now, we are transitioning to technological leadership, and the new strategy will be tailored specifically to this goal," she noted.
R&D will aim to develop a sovereign technological ecosystem as part of the new strategy, Ilyina said. "First and foremost, this is the creation and development of whole new industrial branches, an energy system in lieu of individual one-off products. And the second point is that advanced science will be huge going forward, the driver of the long-term program, the long-term strategy. This is what we will focus on in the near future," she added.
The 4th Young Scientists Congress is being held on November 27-29 in the Sirius Federal Territory. TASS is the information partner of the congress.
