Turkey’s imports from Russia reach $35.5 bln in 2024

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the country’s exports increased by 3.1% to $216.2 bln in January-October 2024 compared to the same period last year, while imports decreased by 7.2% to $282 bln

ISTANBUL, November 28. /TASS/. Imports from Russia to Turkey in January-October 2024 amounted to $35.5 bln, with Russia taking the second place after China, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.

According to the institute, goods worth $37.4 bln were delivered from China to Turkey in 10 months, with Germany in third place with $22.2 bln.

Turkey exported the most goods to Germany ($17 bln) in 2024, followed by the United Kingdom ($13.3 bln), and the United States ($12.5 bln).

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the country’s exports increased by 3.1% to $216.2 bln in January-October 2024 compared to the same period last year, while imports decreased by 7.2% to $282 bln. Turkey's foreign trade deficit since the beginning of the year has decreased by 30.1% compared to the previous year and amounted to $65.8 bln.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that the country’s export volume is projected to reach $267 bln by the end of 2024, compared to $255.4 bln a year earlier.
