Unemployment rate in Russia reaches 2.3% in October
Of the 1.8 mln unemployed, about 1.1 mln are urban residents, while 0.7 mln are rural
MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. The unemployment rate in Russia in October 2024 decreased compared to September and amounted to 2.3%, according to data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
"In October 2024, 1.8 mln people aged 15 and older were classified as unemployed (in accordance with the methodology of the International Labor Organization)," the statement said.
In October 2024, among the unemployed aged 15 and older, the share of women was 50.8%, while the unemployment rate among women (2.4%) was higher than the unemployment rate among men (2.2%).
Of the 1.8 mln unemployed, about 1.1 mln are urban residents, 0.7 mln are rural. The unemployment rate among rural residents (3.8%) exceeds the unemployment rate among urban residents (1.9%).
The share of young people under 25 among the unemployed accounts for 19.8%, people aged 50 and older - 19.9%, and people without work experience - 28.1%.
It was reported earlier that the unemployment rate in Russia in September 2024 remained at the level of August and amounted to 2.4%.
