Russia's coal production in January-October decreased by 1.7% to 347 mln tons

In particular, production of hard coal of all types decreased by 3.5% year-on-year to 269 mln tons, anthracite production decreased by 16.6% to 17.8 mln tons

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Coal production in Russia decreased by 1.7% and amounted to 347 mln tons in January-October 2024, according to data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

In particular, production of hard coal of all types decreased by 3.5% year-on-year to 269 mln tons, anthracite production decreased by 16.6% to 17.8 mln tons, and coking coal production increased by 6.9% to 92.2 mln tons.

Other hard coal production decreased by 7% to 159 mln tons, while lignite production reached 77.8 mln tons in January-October, rising by 5% year-on-year.
