Industrial production in Russia rises by 4.4% in January-October 2024
Mining extraction in Russia in October decreased by 2% year-on-year and production in the manufacturing sector increased by 9.6%
MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. The volume of industrial production in Russia in January-October 2024 increased by 4.4% year-on-year, according to data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In October 2024, industrial production increased by 4.8% year-on-year, while compared to September 2024, the growth reached 6.6%.
Mining extraction in Russia in October decreased by 2% year-on-year and production in the manufacturing sector increased by 9.6%. In the electricity, gas, and steam supply sector the figures increased by 1%, while industrial production in the water supply, sewerage, and waste disposal sector fell to 1.4%.
In January-October, the highest annual growth rates were recorded, in particular, in the production of computers, electronic and optical products (+34.8%), fabricated metal products, except machinery, and equipment (+29.8%), other vehicles and equipment (+29. 7%, including aircraft, ships, etc.), motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+19%), pharmaceuticals, medical, and veterinary materials (+13.9%), food products (+4.1%), beverages (+9.8%), and other manufactured goods (+9.1%).
Growth was also noted in the production of furniture (+9%), electrical equipment (+6.7%), wood and cork products (+5%), paper (+5.6%), other non-metallic mineral products (+5.3%), textiles (+4.6%), clothing (+5.1%), chemicals and chemical products (+3.8%), machinery and equipment (+3.4%), rubber and plastic products (+1.7%), metal ore mining (+1.6%), leather and leather products (+0.1%), and coal mining (+0.2%).
At the same time, in January-October 2024 the production of machinery and equipment not included in other groups decreased by 3.2% year-on-year, tobacco products - by 2.8%, coke and petroleum products - by 2.3%, extraction of other minerals - by 1.3%, and metallurgical production - by 0.9%.
