Power generation in Russia rises by 3% to 986 bln kWh in 10 months

Thermal power plants increased their output by 3.3% year-on-year to 624 bln kWh in 10 months of 2024
MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Electricity generation in Russia in January-October 2024 amounted to 986 bln kWh, which is 3% higher than the figure for the same period in 2023, according to data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
In October, power generation amounted to 102 bln kWh, which is 1.4% more than in October 2023 and 13.7% more than in September 2024.
Thermal power plants increased their output by 3.3% year-on-year to 624 bln kWh in 10 months of 2024. These plants will remain the main supplier of electricity to the country's unified energy system.
Nuclear power plants reduced their output by 2.1% to 175 bln kWh in January-October 2024, while hydroelectric power plants increased their output by 7.2% to 181 bln kWh.
