Coal is expected to be transported via the territory of Russia
LONDON, November 26. /TASS/. Indian steelmakers JSW Steel and SAIL are holding talks with the government of Mongolia to buy 77,500 metric tons of coking coal, Reuters reported.
JSW Steel is going to buy 2,500 metric tons of the Mongolian coking coal and SAIL intends to buy 75,000 metric tons amid growing steel demand and in order to diversify sourcing.
Coal is expected to be transported via the territory of Russia.
Talks on coking coal purchases started with Mongolia after unstable deliveries of this raw material from Australia last year and in view of its low price, with a metric ton being $50 cheaper than the Australian one.
