Russian stocks down as Tuesday trading opens

The yuan was up by 8.25 kopecks at 14.468 rubles

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Russia’s stock market went down as Tuesday trading opened on Moscow Exchange as the MOEX Index fell by 0.57% to 2,516.24 points, while the RTS Index lost 0.57% to 763.72 points, according to trading data as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time (07:00 a.m. GMT). The yuan against the ruble rose by 10.25 kopecks as trading opened compared with previous closing to 14.483 rubles. By 10:02 a.m. Moscow time (07:02 a.m. GMT) the yuan had surpassed 14.5 rubles for the first time since March 29, 2022, reaching 14.506 rubles (+12.55 kopecks), according to trading data.

As of 10:15 a.m. Moscow time (07:15 a.m. GMT), the MOEX was down by 0.68% at 2,513.39 points, while the RTS was down by 0.68% at 762.81 points. The yuan was up by 8.25 kopecks at 14.468 rubles.

On June 13, the Moscow Exchange suspended trading in the dollar and euro after the US Treasury imposed sanctions against it and the National Clearing Center, part of the Moscow Exchange group. The regulator uses bank reports and information from over-the-counter trading to determine the dollar and euro exchange rates to the ruble.
