The decision to provide territory will be due to "necessity of supplying certain volumes of gas at an agreed price to the domestic market," Almassadam Satkaliyev said
ASTANA, November 25. /TASS/. Astana is interested in the project of gas supplies from Russia to China via Kazakh territory and it is ready to provide territory for construction of such a gas pipeline in the event a positive decision made by Moscow and Beijing, Kazakh Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev told reporters.
"This project is within the competence of two countries, Russia and China, which have to define for themselves the basic parameters for the start of the project’s implementation. Kazakhstan is obviously interested in implementation of this project <…>. We are ready to provide our territory for transit route," he said.
The decision to provide territory will be due to "necessity of supplying certain volumes of gas, we say up to 10 bln cubic meters at an agreed price to the domestic market," the minister added.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in October that Moscow and Beijing considered a new route to supply gas that may go through Kazakhstan, adding that deliveries might total up to 35 bln cubic meters.
