Yamalo-Nenets Region's Arctic college to be among best campuses by 2030 — authorities
By 2030, more than 250 specialists will be graduating from the college annually
MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. The Arctic campus of the Tarko-Sale College in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region will occupy more than 8 hectares to accommodate 800 students. The local authorities say it will have two academic buildings, a sports center, and by 2030 it will become one of the best colleges in the Russian Federation.
"This is a unique project to transform a college into an industry training center, which will train highly qualified specialists for the fuel and energy complex and it will become a center of student and urban life in a small town, where 20,000 people live, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region. <...> By 2030, the campus should become one of the best educational institutions in the Russian Federation," the regional Department of Education said in response to a request from TASS.
According to the department, thanks to the support from the Novatek Company, the campus will have six test sites with modern equipment and simulators: oil and gas equipment, construction, welding, UAVs and VR technologies, vehicles, industrial equipment that simulates production processes. More than 30 laboratories and workshops will offer a high level of practical training in 36 educational programs: operators and drillers of oil and gas wells, electricians, specialists in drilling rigs and compressors, in development and operation of oil and gas fields, in additive technologies, IT and UAVs.
By 2030, more than 250 specialists will be graduating from the college annually. "The graduates will be offered jobs at gas and oil producing enterprises of Novatek, Gazprom, their service companies, as well as at construction, housing and communal services companies, at industrial equipment repairing companies," the department said.
Campus infrastructures
Tarko Sale's campus will accommodate 800 students. Two academic buildings, a sports center with two playgrounds, a natural sciences center for school students, and accommodation for students coming from other cities and towns will be built on an area of 8.17 hectares.
"With the powerful infrastructures, the campus will be able to host All-Russian stages and finals of professional competences competitions in the fuel and energy complex," the department said. "The campus' Center for Students, Creativity and Design will offer clubs, projects, summer schools, exhibitions, creative workshops for the youth and school students."
The educational and industrial complex will offer car service, electrical repair, welding and 3D printing services to the public, where students will gain practical and business skills and will earn money.
A Gallery for local residents will have a deli, a local cuisine cafe, a Northern food store, children's playroom, a souvenir market, a fitness center and a cinema room.
