US provides temporary carveout for Sakhalin-2 related transactions with Gazprombank

The United States introduced sanctions against Gazprombank earlier today
WASHINGTON, November 21. /TASS/. Transactions with Gazprombank related to the Sakhalin-2 projects will not be covered by US restrictions until June 28 of the next year, with the relevant license posted on the website of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury.
In June 2024, crude oil supplies from the Sakhalin-2 project to Japan were exempt from the price ceiling until June 28, 2025.
The US Treasury updated this license by adding a new paragraph, whereby all the transactions related to Gazprombank or any entity where Gazprombank holds 50% or more directly or indirectly and related to the Sakhalin-2 project are allowed until June 28, 2025.
