The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Central Bank will evaluate prioritization and optimization of natural monopolies’ investment programs, Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said at the plenary session of the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament..

"We understand that the payback from infrastructural investments comes much later. In other words, the investment cycle is longer. Therefore we agreed with the Bank of Russia to analyze from this viewpoint and to attentively implement the effort of optimizing investment programs of our natural monopolies, compressing as much as possible and prioritizing projects within investment programs, and probably abandoning something," the minister said.

Reshetnikov noted the "expansion" of credits in the sector of state-run companies and natural monopolies.
