MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Avtovaz expects to launch Lada car sales in Iran in 2025, with the shipments to a local partner for compulsory certification already completed, President of the Russian automaker Maxim Sokolov told reporters.

"We reckon upon opening of the Iranian market for us next year. First shipments to a local partner to pass required certification already took place several months ago for cars to undergo required certification," Sokolov said.

Avtovaz is holding talks on exports of its cars and SKD kits for further assembly in Iran, the chief executive said in December 2023. He noted that supplies of Lada cars to Iran may start in 2024.
