Russian GDP growth stood at 4.2% in 9M 2024 — PM

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Russian gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.2% in nine months of this year, despite sanctions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the meeting on economic matters.

"We will discuss main trends influencing the business activity in the country on the whole; economic growth and inflation issues in the first instance. Despite the unprecedented sanction pressure of unfriendly countries, GDP gained 4.2% in conclusion of nine months, according to the updated estimate of the Ministry of Economic Development," Mishustin said, adding that processing sectors continue making the main contribution to dynamics.

This sector increased by almost 8% during three quarters, the prime minister noted. The machinery segment provided for more than a half of it, including production of transportation means and facilities, including railcars, locomotives and ships. Production of computers and electronics is growing with the pace about 30%, he added.
